Mechanosensing: Deciphering the mechanisms of behind a cell’s ability to sense and respond to their mechanical environment

Mechanical signals were among the first inputs with which cells had to cope.  We are elucidating the molecular mechanisms behind a cell’s ability to sense and respond to their mechanical environment and have built the physical theory with predictive power to explain these cellular properties.  Our team includes Douglas Robinson (Cell Biology) and Pablo Iglesias (Electrical and Computer Engineering).
